Crossroads Church - helping people love God and love others through faith in Jesus Christ.
Q. How do I get there? A. Crossroads is located just to the east of Monticello Middle School as you're heading out of town toward Savoy on Washington St, which becomes Monticello / Ridge Road. We are about a mile East of the Middle School on the NW corner of the first crossroads, which is 1602 N 1125 E Road. The red star is the church location. The purple box is Market Street, if you're coming from I-72.
Q. What can I expect when I come on Sunday?
A. For families with children we offer Kids Club (birth - 4 yrs old), Kids Corner (pre-school to first grade) and Kids Crossing (second to fifth grade) Each of these groups meet separately during out second service. During our first service everyone meets together in the big room. Both services are identical in content. We hope you'll experience a friendly welcome, inspiring music and teaching that is relevant and helpful. More information on our kid and youth programs can be found on our Ministries Page.
Q. When did Crossroads start?
A. We had our first service on Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004 at the Best Western in Monticello. However, we quickly outgrew that facility and in 2005 we began meeting at the Monticello Middle School. We celebrated the move to our newly constructed church building with a service on Sept 30th, 2007 and began offering two services the following Sunday.
Q. Why did you start a new church in Monticello?
A. Currently, 65% of Americans including those in and around Monticello have given up on church and 3,700 churches close their doors every year in the U.S. At the same time, everyone has questions, hurts, struggles and wonders about their purpose in life.
Grace Church in Mahomet, Illinois has drawn a significant number of families from outside of Mahomet, many coming from the Monticello area. While recognizing that good churches were available in Monticello, the leadership at Grace believed that a new church with a unique style could benefit the community by meeting the needs of those who aren't already active in a local church. New churches can also excite and encourage existing churches as well; Crossroads has received a warm welcome from many of the local church leaders.
It takes all kinds of churches to connect with all kinds of people. We invite you to see for yourself. Maybe Crossroads is the right fit for you!
